We held our spring meeting yesterday and it was lovely to see so many of our members present. For those of you who were unable to attend and as a reminder to those who did, here is a quick summary.

We have received a bequest from Joan Bassett-Smith and the plan is to buy another trough to plant up in her memory.

Mark, Ricky and Peter are putting together a maintenance plan of all the jobs that need doing, there are quite a few, and they will be dealt with in order of priority.

The captain will be putting up availability sheets shortly for our first few games and asked members to put their names down, he also reminded us that we have a game against the county in May so need as many male members as possible to put their names on the list. Malcolm also asked anyone who has not given him their email to do so.

We have the following events coming up. On 6th April from 7pm there will be a dance night with ploughmans in the club house with live music by Glass in Hand. Tickets £10 per person from Gill or Malcolm. 20th April there will be a race night in the clubhouse and 11th June an outing to Canterbury. Details for both these events are up in the clubhouse.

The Treasurer reminded us that the subs were overdue with some still outstanding, if that is you can you please make payment as soon as possible.

There is still some work to be done on the green and Mick would be grateful for any assistance anyone can give prior to the green opening on 14th April. Our first club game, Chair V Captain is on 21st April, with our first friendly fixture on Wednesday 24th April.

There will be a work party on 29th March, Good Friday, anyone who can help please come along.

The last shortmat will be on Tuesday, 26th March.

The sheets will be going up for club competitions as soon as the green is open, it will cost £2 per competition entered and payment should be made, either by BACs or cash/cheque with your entry form into the white box. Please support your club by entering as many as possible. Please note the triples competition will be held on Sunday 30th June, please keep this date clear if you are entering the triples competition.

Finally I would urge those of you who have not done so to sign up to the news alerts on the website. You will get a confirmation email after you have entered your email address, but it's not always immediate so be patient and remember to check your span.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the green shortly.
